Current Gym Playlist!

Some have asked me about my gym playlist so here is what I am currently listening to, its about an hour long!

The first song Let The Drummer Kick is kind of laid back and I enjoy listening to it while I warm up on the stationary bike. From there the tempo picks up a bit and its just in time for me to the hit the weight room for the lifting portion of my workout.

There are a few U2 songs which might seem out of place to some but they are some of my Dad's favorite songs so I throw them in there to keep me motivated to push myself harder and harder in the gym.

The last four songs are slower tempo and I usually listen to them during my cool down or while I stretch. Cold Play's Fix You is just an amazing song and I can relate to it SO much. Little House is from the soundtrack of the movie Dear John, I love it because it makes think about love and having a wife and kids one day, the thoughts of those things motivate me in the gym. Watermark by Enya is just a beautiful and relaxing song.

The last song is Mickey from the Rocky Soundtrack and it moves me in ways I can't even describe. Sometimes I find myself stretching after my workout with tears streaming down my face because of it. I know it sounds corny to most but the Rocky movies are more than just movies to me. They represent a lot from my childhood including struggles I have had in my life, pain, people telling me I couldn't do it, fighting for what I want in life. But most of all the song makes me think of my Father, it is a constant reminder to myself to live my life in a way that would make my Father proud...

I love it Alan! I love that the music moves you in the same way it does me. My playlists are full of songs that have a lot of meaning attached. U2 especially makes me think of a dear friend of mine who passed a few years ago. I always smile and cry at the same time when I hear those songs. If this is what motivates you and keeps you going it's far from corny I would say!!

Great list! It's nice that you have connections with some of the songs too...that's great motivation.

I'm going to have to check out this list and make a playlist for myself soon. I'm going to include songs that motivate me too, not just fast paced ones I always thought had to make up a work out playlist. See, you're very inspiring! It's great to learn new ideas from you :) I haven't read all the archives yet, but I'm guessing you lost your father. I'm sorry. I lost my mom 8 years ago, she was my best friend and to this day, my biggest motivator. Hugs.
