Appreciate What You Can Do...

Three years ago I could barely walk up stairs without feeling pain in my knees, I would have to take it one stair at a time. This would often frustrate me as someone who was a former athlete and  used to squat over 300 lbs. When I started my weight loss journey in 2009 I could not do a squat, I tried but physically and mentally I was not ready. Over the last few years I have worked hard at building my strength and tearing down the mental walls that were keeping me from doing them. On May 3rd, 2011 I finally broke through that wall at Lifetime Fitness and did my first real squat in over 10 years. It was such an amazing feeling and I will never forget that day. You will never appreciate what you can do until the day comes when you can no longer do it.
