21 Days to Create a Habit...

You know that saying, "It takes 21 day of a repetitive behavior to create a habit".... I have no idea if that's true.

I DO know that I have 22 days of Half Ironman training down and I am feeling GOOD. I will be honest, I had been extremely nervous about the training for this race. Even though I am still early in my training and the volume has not kicked up yet I am feeling a lot better about everything. I am seeing small slivers of progress in all of my swimming, biking, and running. I am starting to get a little confidence in myself and starting to believe that I CAN do this.

This week is a recovery week so my workouts are scaled down a bit and I will be doing a swimming and running test later this week to collect some data for my Tri Coach Earl from Tailwind Endurance. He said next week training will kick up kicked up a notch....We will see what that means!

You are such an inspiration, Alan! I've been waffling about whether to commit to a Fall duathlon again, mostly due to the time required to do the training; you've given me more food for thought.

Alan is like that, I always had problem to create new habits but with perseverance I can delete my negative habits.

I wish I had read this while I was struggling to lose weight with running. I was doing my best to eat right and run every day to lose weight, but I just wasn't seeing it. Thankfully after a few years I was able to find a good diet and I started a really good workout program that has helped me lose 40 pounds!

For those who are still working hard to lose weight and struggling the best advise I can give is to not give up and keep trying new things.

That nervousness when a big race is fast approaching. Ohh just mixed emotions! Well, I'm not also sure if it's true but in my case it's not. It would take a quarter of a year. Lol! I wish you kicked Ironman well. Great post! :)
